Hello Professors,
Help get the word out, this is a wonderful opportunity. Students have a chance to attend all sessions for free. I went to a lot of the events last year and enjoyed it. I will be attending most of this year’s events as well as helping put our event together with Coca Cola here in the ICSC Headquarters.
Hope all is well!
Warm regards,

| Baratunde ThurstonCo-Founder and CEO, Cultivated Wit
Thurston’s side-gig as a comedian guarantees that The Unquiz with Unmetric, where he acts quizmaster, is sure to be a side-splitter. Oh, and he’s also a columnist at Fast Company, a White House Advisor, and author of How To Be Black.

Just Scratching the Surface of Content & Social
Social has had explosive growth; but it’s only the beginning. Looking at how we use and consume reveals a deep path for us all to explore. While startups and tech companies have an edge, other industries have to contend with, well, more regulation and hurdles to get their start in content and all things social. That’s where LiveWorld excels -- and they’re dropping their knowledge during SMW NYC.
We interviewed their fearless leader, Peter Friedman (pictured right) to learn more. |
FOMO: Is Wanting Everything Now Making You Sick?
YOLO. We’ve heard it. We’ve used it. We’ve tried to embrace it. But we’ve also spent more than one special occasion Instagramming rather than experiencing. That’s not just kind of pathetic—it could be unhealthy! The need for instantaneous updates and the latest in tech can make us anxious and unproductive. Interestingly, a slew of new apps can help you unplug.
Our very own Toby Daniels and Nicky Yates explain more on our theme, The Future of Now. |
Grow Your Audience with Google
Are you maximizing the largest search engine? is your content getting seen? Google is coming to town to show you how to put their platform to your use and to showcase your brand in search, subscription, and more. Join Google at SMW14, and get in on it.
| 5 Ways Millennials Are Changing Content
We can blame it all on the millennials. Their habits are shaping how we make and share content. From discovering new talent on platforms like Vine to the prominence of listicles, this generation is driving change for media. And you can learn what's happening here.
