CCNY PRSSA Membership Drive NOW OPEN > Join, Participate and Reap Rewards !!!

Hi colleagues:

Please share with your students that they are invited to join PRSSA as members of the CCNY chapter.  PRSSA membership for a FULL YEAR is $50. BIC and AD PR students welcome!

Interested students should either give cash or a check payable to Lynn Appelbaum, to me
in Shep 471 (by Oct 29).   Put in an envelope that includes :
Name clearly printed
Phone:
Permanent Address:
email
month and date of graduation.

If students join the national PRSSA, they automatically become members of our CCNY Chapter
(which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year).   There are NO additional dues for the NY chapter.

PRSSA national membership gives students access to internship/job databases, competitive scholarships, and  professional development information, along with the PRSA trade publication Tactics.   More at www.prssa.org

As CCNY chapter members, students get to demonstrate their professional commitment to PR
while in school.  We also need of students who want to take on our CCNY Chapter  executive posts for
Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, so we are looking for leaders!  And...it looks GREAT on your resume!

We try to hold chapter meetings once a month at a time that works for most members.
Stephen Colantonio is our chapter president (sjcolantonio@gmail.com), so you'll be working with him on a team.
Remember: this is your student club, so it's as good as you want to make it!

Generally, our chapters hosts at least one professional development on campus each semester
and an agency visit in the spring. The executive team works with me to plan and execute. You do the work
and get the glory! I help.

PRSSA members also get to come to PRSA NY PRSSA events (which I run)
for only $10  ($20 if you are not a member).  The PRSA NY PRSSA  first event will be Oct. 21, entitled:
"Managing Up: How to Be a Stand-out Intern or New Pro"

PR pros offer valuable practical tips on how to be a more effective intern/employee, how to build a productive working relationship with your boss, and how to create value for your team, your company -- and yourself!  Managing Up is a "must have" life and career skill that everyone can use.

DATE: Wednesday, Oct. 21.
TIME:  6-8 PM
Affect Strategies
989 Sixth Avenue, between 36th and 37th St, New York

Please have students see me with questions.  Thanks for sharing!

all best,
Lynn
