Mintel - Global New Products Database > * important intel * now available ON CAMPUS

Good News!

Mintel Global New Products Database
Now Available via CCNY Libraries

Should you need help finding what you need on the Mintel database, ask for Prof. Trevar Riley-Reid, our Media and Communication Arts contact at the main NAC - CCNY Library.

Mintel offers exciting market intelligence to take your class projects to the next level.  Use it now and as you proceed through the major.  And, it's a way to show what you know at internships and once you secure an entry level position.

PR Writing students learned about this tool from former advertising exec Marose Quogue, who led our research session at the New York Public Library / Science Industry and Business Library (SIBL).  While many powerful databases are available from the comfort of your home with a NYPL library card, you still have to go on site at 34th Street + Madison Avenue to access some of their extensive treasure trove.

To all students, when you're next in Midtown - stop by SIBL, check out what's offered, and obtain a library card for off site access.  Or, you can apply for a library card online or ... you can stop by the Countee Cullen Branch of NYPL (a short walk from campus at 135th Street @ 7th Avenue, near the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture).

Arturo Schomburg (a gentleman of Puerto Rican descent who lived in Brooklyn), gave his collection of African American books to The New York Public Library.  Today, it's the nations largest repository of books, digital material and information pertaining to the African diaspora.  SIBL and the Schomburg Center are among NYC's expansive research libraries whereby many items don't circulate -- you can only use them on site.  SIBL is the world's largest business library open to the public.

Take advantage of all that CCNY and NYC have to offer!

Special thanks to the BIC Program and Prof. Nancy Tag, who obtained a college/university subscription to the Mintel database.

Regards,
Prof. LSJ
