Reminder :: MAIP Applications Due Oct. 15

Hello All:

Competitive multicultural students should apply for the 2015 MAIP Summer Fellows Program.  For the past two years, CCNY has had a great record of MAIP scholars: 10 in 2013 and 9 in 2014 (including two BIC students).

As you learned at the new student orientation, the 4A's (American Association of Advertising Agencies) Multi-Cultural Advertising Internship Program is a highly competitive 10-week summer internship program that selects from a talented pool of graduate and undergraduate applicants from across the country. More than 85% of finalists will be placed in major advertising agencies and become part of the MAIP alumni network which has helped jump start the careers of more than 2,400 aspiring advertising professionals since 1973. MAIP winners are announced in mid-March.

Once a student has been screened and accepted by the 4A's, semi-finalists are then interviewed by agency recruiters who then vote on finalists.  Let's keep the great CCNY record going!

DEADLINE:  OCT 15, 2014.  Scroll OLDER POSTS (this blog) or visit www.aaaa.org to learn more.

Regards,
Prof. Scott Jackson

To: lynn_appelbaum@hotmail.com

Good Morning Professor Appelbaum,

I was recently contacted by Professor Rich of the Colin Powell School for help with promoting
the Semester In Washington Program. I was fortunate enough to be able to be selected among
the first group of students to participate in this program.

If you wouldn't mind, could you promote this program within the department as there might
be students such as myself that are interested in going a different route with their
AD/PR degree.

If anyone has any questions about what the program was like and my experience they
can contact me. If they would like more information on requirements, costs, etc please
have them contact the program director indicated on the flyer or Professor Rich at
andrewowenrich@gmail.com.

Enjoy your semester,

Important! Intro to PR Students MUST Declare Major

MCA Intro to PR Students:

If you have not formally declared Ad/PR as your major, you MUST FILL OUT A MAJOR FORM asap.  This is important.  Being accepted into the major is NOT the same as declaring their major.

You MUST see Prof. Appelbaum in #472 Shepard THIS WEEK.  She's available Mon and Weds from 1:30 to 4:30 pm.

Stay tuned for news about the date of our Ad/PR New Student Orientation, where you'll learn more about what's in store as your communications studies unfold!

About Me

Lynne Scott Jackson
Lynne Scott Jackson is a seasoned integrated communications professional with experience in national consumer marketing, advertising, audience / channel expansion, content development, strategic advocacy, healthcare, media relations and business / communications education. As President & CEO of Millynneum Marketing, Media & Public Affairs, LSJ has pioneered multicultural marketing programs for corporations, businesses and institutions, including Colgate, Pepsi-Cola and scores of leading Forbes - Fortune brands. A leader in the diversity, equity and inclusion space, she advocates for community programs that make a difference, helping clients devise substantive social engagement that stands the test of time—as opposed to questionable concepts conceived during a moment in history. Founded in 1997, Millynneum recently launched the Life Skills Journey division to provide a platform where Gen Z, millennial and veteran marketers link in the production, education and wellness arenas. Recipient of the PRSA-NY and CCNY President’s Awards, LSJ is a huge fan of weekly 20-mile walkabouts and sharing her wealth of wisdom with the masses.
